Thinking about unity.


Some thoughts for your consideration and discussion.


I posted this:

I am wondering why all of our movements and organizations aren't coalescing around implementation of the United Nations' Universal Declaration of Human Rights which also provides the basis for challenging Wall Street for political and economic power as well as bringing forward many specific reforms which when implemented would make these words a living reality:

Those who framed the language of this document with its goals and objectives conveniently (and intentionally as capitalist politicians always do when it comes to the needs of working people) left out any specific means for implementation... our organizations and movements have to launch the kind of mass struggles to bring these words to fruition.

Using this important document as a common statement of agreement should enable greater unity in thinking and action.


Perhaps some of you have ideas about what is the stumbling block towards unity?


There really is no need "to keep re-inventing the wheel," as they say.


Is there any amongst us who couldn't consider this as a statement which unites us into which we could plug all of our organizations and movements into?


We would have a pretty decent world to live in if this Declaration was reality for all peoples everywhere. What are the stumbling blocks to this?
