Amy Dean, another one of these millionaire labor leaders now further
enriching herself at the foundation-funded trough, has come out with an
"analysis" of the Obama legacy concerning organized labor... read what
she wrote for yourself...
http://democracyjournal.org/magazine/41/workers-stand-with-labor/
... and then ask a few questions like:
Why doesn't she call for the repeal of "At-Will Employment?"
Why doesn't she call for a "21st Century Full Employment act for Peace
and Prosperity" that would make it mandatory for the president and
Congress to attain and then maintain real full employment?
Why
doesn't she call for the Minimum Wage becoming a real living wage tied
to the actual cost-of-living like Frances Perkins intended?
Why
doesn't Amy Dean point out that Wall Street's imperialist agenda is
detrimental to working people improving their lives and livelihoods?
Amy Dean does not advocate public ownership of the mines, mills,
factories or entire industries as the solution to Wall Street employers
fleeing to low wage/cheap resource markets--- and, we must never forget
it is low wages that make resources cheap.
Amy Dean fails to
point out that it is not China dumping cheap steel in the United States
that is the problem but Wall Street's control of the Chinese labor
market pushing the wages of Chinese workers down so Wall Street's
profits rise that makes Chinese Steel cheaper than U.S. steel. The
millionaire labor leaders and their Democratic partners ignore this
little fact.
And, finally; why doesn't Amy Dean make any
reference to the "Cost-of-Living Crisis" every single working class
family is caught up in?
Of course, Amy Dean makes no mention of
the fact that millionaire labor leaders are not capable of understanding
the problems of working people and that all they do in order to protect
their own cushy jobs is kiss the butts of Democratic Party politicians
who, working with their Republican counterparts, are shoving austerity
measures down our throats to pay for their dirty wars.
Amy Dean
claims to advocate for "social democracy" in place of neo-liberalism
even though neo-liberalism can't survive without the partnership and
collaboration from social democrats who mislead the labor movement.
Amy Dean conveniently doesn't recommend workers turning to real
socialist and Communist ideas as were advocated by Eugene Debs, William
Z. Foster, W.E.B. Du Bois or the "seat of the pants socialist" William
Winpisinger.
Amy Dean is pushing for the election of Hillary
Clinton with the rest of the millionaire labor leaders who, like their
Democratic politician counterparts, lack the moral and political courage
to get specific about solving any of our problems.
Let's
remember: Movement building is about educating, organizing and uniting
in militant and determined struggle to win SPECIFIC solutions to our
common problems.
Let Amy Dean start writing like this, from a
Marxist class struggle perspective and see how long her foundation
funding lasts...
