Minnesota DFL moves 2014 state convention to weekend of May 30-June 1

The Minnesota DFL says it is changing the dates of its 2014 statewide convention to May 30-June 1 in Duluth.

The convention had been planned for a week later, but there is a scheduling conflict, officials said. It will still be held in the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC).

Gov. Mark Dayton and U.S. Sen. Al Franken have both said they will seek re-election next year.

In 2010, Dayton did not seek party endorsement and was banned from the floor of the convention, which went on to endorse Margaret Anderson Kelliher. Dayton, though, later won the party primary and went on to win the general election.
